what the heck is with the crashing

iv seen this alot people talking about it i fixed it for the longest time but it seams now the closer i get to the end it does it more prob can play for about 15 secs

Are your sound drivers up-to-date? It could be a problem with your system struggling with the ingame reverb-SFX.

This might sound weird, but I think it's from saving before you quit. This game ran fine for me until today, it was constantly crashing around every corner, even after all the graphics downgrades. I heard that save-quitting corrupts your files, so I deleted them and loaded an earlier manual save. Now the game runs fine, haven't had a single crash.

I believe that once you save-quit, even once, your file is corrupted for good, because I had to load a much earlier save to fix it. It's absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that a simple feature like that would crash your game, honestly.
