Weird Load Times For Certain Features Only

The game runs perfectly smoothly except it takes upwards of a minute for both leader interfaces and the various 'overview' windows (the tech tree, the civics menu, the espionage menu, etc- everything opened by f__) to load. I just tried the core game without expansions and everything worked fine. The problem seems specific Beyond the Sword so I was wondering if anyone else has encountered it.
