Help with wheel and pedals (driving force GT)

So I am new to race sims, and I am really trying to love these simbin games. But they just won't seem to work properly with my pedals.
The first 40% or so of me pressing the brake or throttle is ignored, leaving the entire revs/brake, from 0 - 100, being pressed in around half the space it should
Needless to say, this makes it very difficult to make precise corrections to braking and acceleration.
I have tried changing all settings in the game and in the wheel settings in windows, but nothing changes this.
I have the same thing in all race 07 games and expansions, in GTR2, GT legends, basically anything simbin except R3E.
Please tell me I am missing something

Yes, same deal. It won't accept input from the pedals until I have pressed them around 40% of the way down at least

I had a DFGT too until it decided to kill itself but the Simbin games worked fine as any other.
From hearing your story you should check how the deadzones are configured in the controllersection of the games.

Yeah I did that, deadzone is at zero for everything.
Now, I have (I think) every single expansion, add-on and single piece of DLC for race 07, and they are all the same... except...... GTR evolution.
I played GTR E last night, and it was perfect, apart from force feedback on steering weight being a bit low, even on high settings.
But the pedals were perfectly set up almost as default, steering was just about spot on as well.
All other add-ons to race 07 seem to ignore input from the pedals until they are pressed almost halfway down
Definitely not a deadzone setting. Not in the game settings, and not in the controller settings, or even the logitech profiler.

Thanks but I don't have combined pedals. I never checked that for any game. It was off by default so I left it

Have you actually tried just rebinding the pedals in-game? I didn't really get that from your post.

Yes. Sorry, thought I had made everything clear, my bad.
I tried changing settings in-game and in logitech settings.
I was just hoping maybe I have missed something somewhere or something, but I don't think so.
Can anyone suggest just a good setup for a logitech DFGT wheel, so I can at least get everything else set up nicely? Please.

Ok, no worries. Just wanted to make sure. Now, just for the sake of it, try switching 'combined pedals' ON, and then rebinding them in-game. I've had this similar weird issue in some games on my previous wheel, and sometimes the random ♥♥♥♥ like this has worked. (it really shouldn't be the case with a sim like this, but you never know, worth a shot)

I was thinking it probably has trouble like this just because it's an old game now and isn't fully compatible with the latest drivers for my wheel?

I wouldn't think so. I'm using a g27 with most likely the same drivers and have no issues. Have you checked the game controllers-section in windows to verify that it sees your wheel properly and has the full axis there?

So after playing GTR evolution, and that working fine, the others seem to be fine now as well.
I have no idea what happened, but if anything I might need to ADD a bit of deadzone.
Some weird glitch there.
I tried race 07 base game and one of the others, and they are fine. I will try all of the other addons later, but it seems it's ok now.
If it happens again I will just launch GTR evo and see if that is what fixed it, or if it's just totally random.
You know how it is with PC gaming, anything can cause an issue, no matter how weird.
Now I just need to find a nice setup I am comfortable with. It takes a lot longer to set up this wheel for each game than it does my flight stick for DCS modules

Lol, yeah, I know. It's weird sometimes. And many a'time it's just "turn it off and on again". :D

That's right.
I have had so many weird things with PC's over the years. You think nothing can surprise you and then suddenly something freaky happens and you're back scratching your head again
But we love PC's for all their quirks, because they do the job better than any other platform for what we want.

Indeed. It's a love/hate-relationship, but a beautiful one. :)
