Your problem is not the game i don't think but rather Windows live, make sure your GFWL Cilent is functioning properly and make sure your Windows update in working properly and 'Background Intelligent Transfer Serive' is showing in Services.msc (all found in All Programs). another thing is do you have speakers or headphones in your computer and are they running correctly? BSP will instantly crash if it does not detect a functioning sound line-output. this logic goes for all the Game's basic requirements, if one basic requirement is not met (keyboard, speakers, mouse, windows version) then the game will instantly crash - as stupid as it sounds some games are like that (usally older ones).
In case you have the same issue, here is the SOLUTION:
- start the game main menu
- enter Options / Game
- change the language from "English (Authentic VO)" to "English"
- click on the Accept button
- quit the game and start it again, it will work fine
Very simple, but it took me two weeks to find it..
Another quick thing you could try that I read caused problems, do a system search for "bsp.exe" and if you find any other apps named bsp.exe other than battlestations pacific post that here as well.

Other than install it's the only ones.
I'm not sure honestly. My best guess is GFWLive is still messing it up. I saw another user on the forum got it working by doing this:
"Okay, I finally got it working. I manually uninstalled both the GFWLive Redistributable and the GFWLive Client from the control panel, then installed the updated version. Works like a charm now."
">program name here< is not responding, windows is looking for a solution to the problem"
and remains like that until i close it
it does not even pull up the game window
