the last patch was mid 2011 so are they working on something else? are they broke? did they change career? or is it just not worth it anymore to improve this game?

Don't tell me, I'm their Italian translator and they aren't replying to my emails since September. I sit here with a 50,000 words work waiting for them to publish it, but they are nowhere to be found. They even left a pair of bugs behind (the score bug, for example).

Could you email them about something else and see if they reply.

I think Steam may end the ability of people using Mac OS to download their game in a bit over 2 months.

This is probably because their game is listed as 32bit.

If the game is 64bit compatible they should probably update how it is registered with Steam so more people can download-thus are likely buy-this game.

The game is probably not 64-bit compatible. I can't tell you why I suspect this (because NDAs), but it very likely not only isn't, but cannot be patched in a way to where it is.
