Some guys (like me) have "broken names"... I mean names with characters taht can not be rendered on the game, then you can not see the names correctly, then... Why not to let to select a Name in the Menu then you will see a STEAM icon in front of each game for identify with a Steam account ? Can be possible and a solution for not-seeing names? Regards!...
