well being that this is asked on a daily basis i dont see him as being a $$$. you could easily have scrolled thru the forums and taken a look.
but some of us are willing to help out regardless. and yes there are a ton of servers still. you do not need a third party program at all. it helps though as in using xfire. as this seems to show more servers then what ingame does or steam does. some servers are modded which is different then being hacked. modded servers were allowed and is what makes cod4. this brings more maps and more gametypes and more weapons and things. there is an option in the options to turn off downloading.
there are also some servers that have modified settings then what normaly would be the case. but yet nothing to download. one of our servers for instance is a low gravity server. there are some others as well. some settings that are changed like in our server is the jump height and its slightly slower. (simulating being on the moon or something with low gravity).
