Number of players on MW

Hey there,
I've been contemplating buying COD 4 for my PC, but i wanted to know if enough people still play it enough to make it enjoyable.
I saw on the Community Hub page that usually aroung 500-600 people are in-game. I already have MW2 for PC, and around 4000-5000 people are on there at a time, but i still find it hard to get into good games.
I know that they have dedicated servers in COD 4, but i'm curious if it's worth playing anymore or not.

There are no official numbers. The Steam page for this is unreliable as it only counts the Steam numbers, not the retail players.

Unofficial numbers are at 13,000. But again this is unofficial.

CoD4 is by far the most popular, aside from whatever this year's kick is.

COD4 has still got the highest number of players playing it. Followed by Black Ops 2 , MW3 and Ghosts (as of now).
