I've tried this a few times now and can't figure out a solution. The guy standing in front of the gate who's supposed to give you the rune whatsit to open it is unclickable even after you've got the tick required and done the first step of opening the gate. Can't get more ticks without him. Lost. Help please?...

I finished level 25 and got a cut scene. But that seems to be it. No extra areas have opened up. I can see that there are levels available to others but where are they? I am playing relaxed mode (no time requirement) - would that make a difference? The island I am on seems to have fog around it and I suspect another path should open to another island, this did not happen. Some help would be greatly appreciated, thanks....
