Is this game spooky?

I scare easily. Games like F.E.A.R and Dead Space make me want to poop my pants in terror. Is this game going to spook me? Purchased it on a whim with Bioshock 2 from an Amazon sale a few weeks ago on impulse without really thinking then activated the keys via Steam.

It was a bit spooky at first (especially the big daddies) but after that it really isn't. The only thing that shook me was splicers playing dead.

It's not really spooky or scary, but it is creepy. I don't think it quite fits as "horror" but the way the spider splicers move, and the various visual effects leave me a bit unsettled, IMO. But the game does not scare me.

Much like what these people are saying. It's not really "horror" as QueenElliott said, but the ambiance of it combined with some of the sound and lighting choices can create a somewhat anxious feeling. Id almost say it's something more akin to what survival horror games used to be, but again, I'm just starting out as well.

imho it's spooky... but then you get used to it bc the scary things keep repeating the same lines, etc... and the fact that one of the scariest things is called a big daddy.. you'll be alright.

F.E.A.R. and Dead Space all have really scary jump scares. Bioshock isn't scary in the way F.E.A.R and Dead Space are. Its just very dark and disturbing. Very fun though

It's all a matter of whether you consider "darker" games to be considered spooky. It's a bit disturbing, but not full of jumpscares. I wouldn't say it's spooky, it does cause a bit of an uneasy feeling at times, at least on my part.

Im just geting it now :D but I have tryed it though. its kinda spooky but I find horror games arent so scary when you got a huge freaken shot gun

There are just few little jumpscares in the game. The rest is just creepy, not scary.

Though, I admit I felt pretty scared at the fishery's with the spider spicers humming, the falling roses, and the guy saying "Well, you are ♥♥♥♥♥♥". Easy kill once it comes though.

imo its not scary, but what realy bugs me are some plasmids, for example with me its always like "oh cool insect swar... OMFG THERE ARE BEES UNDER HIS SKIN!". It bothered me way less in bioshock 2, thanks to the big daddys gloves, but from what ive seen from some videos, il probably wont let myself use the infinite version of incinerate!.
