Problem launching BioShock

I have tried many of the fixes listed, with no help

When ever I launch BioShock the windows loading circle comes up around my mouse, its says on my friends list that I'm in the game, yet after a few seconds the loading stops and then my friends status goes back to online.

I find this odd because I see no error message or any sign of a crash. Im running Windows 7, please any info on this would be helpful.
