Why does a "failed to create GameExplorer object" window pop up?

I've played this game many times before, on a few different devices. I've played it on devices with Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 OS and had no problems until now. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game several times but nothing works. All I get is that window. Does anyone know why that's happening?

Tried reinstalling this but this error message got in the way.

Changed the game to Windows XP3 compatibility and it ran just fine. Give it a try.

OK, thanks. Do you have Win 10? I never tried playing this game on Win 10 yet and I'm wondering if it works or if I need to do the same thing?

I have Windows 10 and it wouldn't work for me. Only this fix got it running.

OK, thanks, I'll do the same to all of my computers and give it a try. I had it running on one of my computers with Win 8.1 but my other computer with Win 8.1 wouldn't work very well, the game kept getting stuck and then the sound wouldn't work. Maybe I didn't change the compatibility correctly or something.
