Rockochet is a VR Arcade-style game with two very simple mechanics: move and bounce. Keep the energy ball in play by orbiting around and bouncing it back towards the rock.

Update 0.5.7 Ball Acceleration

To speed things up and make the game more exciting, a new mechanic was put in place to make the ball accelerate towards the shield if things are lined up properly. Some other changes include refactoring the sounds to go through a global mixer. This paves the way for more granular sound options. Level 3 has been redesigned slightly to require less ice and more iron for a win.

Update 0.5.6 Grab and Pull Locomotion

After receiving some new player feedback and actually seeing the struggles during LIV testing, locomotion has been changed to a grab-and-pull style. This is the first iteration, but works well enough it needed to go in the default branch to stop the bad first impressions.

Use the same trigger as before to begin moving (grab) and pull in the direction you want to go. Upon release you'll continue to drift in the direction pulled towards with a slow deceleration.

Update 0.5.5 LIV support & Synthwave Music

Music has finally come to Rockochet! About 9 synthwave tracks have been added to fit the pace and style, be sure to post on this update with your feedback.

LIV support has been added, so you'll be able to broadcast your mixed reality streams starting with this update.

Finally, added magnetic attraction to all powerups, with a smaller radius than orestone.

April 16 Early Access Release Date!

I am happy to announce that April 16th will be the day Rockochet goes up on the Steam Store. This will be more of a "soft launch" to get more visibility and those interested in Rockochet's success an avenue to help fund the development efforts. received some good feedback from Silent Knight

Last night on a whim I reached out to a twitch.tv streamer who was looking for a game to play to give Rockochet a whirl. This was a huge leap for me since this is the first "outsider" to download and play the game. From this session I was able to gather some very valuable feedback and added a few issues to my TODO. Level 2 balance feedback

Some players were remarking that the ball and stones were arriving at the same time. The stone spawn velocity now starts at 50% and ramps up to 100% speed to give players a chance to catch up to normal game play. The other alternative is to slow the ball way down and slowly ramp it up to the stone velocity....

Bug: sometimes a long delay the first time playing level 1

I noticed with a couple of players a long delay (about 10 seconds) launching Level 1, but only when freshly installed. If anyone notices this, please send me you debug.log file (See the Pinned message on Bugs and Suggestions to know where this is found)
