for some reason i cant stay in the black on the budget. I put down several lines and they usually make a profit. But when i go from month to month i loose everything i got. Help1

The money you actually end the month with is the "Balance" under the economy graphs menu. If you keep an eye on it you'll notice it doesn't increase too much. But that is money you'll start the next month with.

Its pure accountant stuff. And don't worry, that is all correct economy-wise.

The "profit" shown in green is how much that "balance" will increase next month, in constrast to the money you see on top of the screen, which is the money you have in your coffers at the current time. Accountants name it "immediate balance".

income = +590.00 expense = -906.00 profit = - 300.00 next month balance = -818 why not -307? How is this possible where is the other -518 ? Dont make cents .

hahaha, good pun there about the "cents". Humor aside, i just know i learned to understand what appears in the game finance system. Just rely on the numbers shown to you, and if they fail somewhere, just ignore it. The game works (once you did something about those stupid passenger capacties)

you could set a higher sell value than a buy value for a certain vehicle inside your game files.

Allows you to add money (and other cheats). Adding a little extra in the coffers where needed in such emergencies would help the beginner at what seems to be, an overly restrictive and rather tight budget that has no difficulty setting.

I'm a purist as long as it works. And, if i "have" to modify it, i always try not to mess with the game balance and how it was supposed to work.

Cheating once is okay, i think, when you really can't get past something. But the really hard bit is to do it just once. The next time you face something challenging, one usually recurs to cheating again.

Also, simply building what is lucrative sounds dull in a game (although works perfectly in real life). The game is very well made, all it needs is a patch that increases passanger capacity, changes the prices a bit and nerfs down the traffic to make it more according to what you get from the graphs (generally when private motoring hit 12%, you get REALLY clogged up roads. Its ridiculous).

You can set the game to custom and select how much money you start with. You can go to the budget area and turn down your maintenance until you can afford it later on but stuff will break down more. If you want to create a project that you think the NPC's will enjoy, the best bet is to get a large 8 year loan from the bank for 100,000. Eventually you will pay it off over time.

I have found out once you establish a good profit at start of the game try and move onto underground railways as that will make you loads of money and will put your profits upto at least over a mil every month.

that is just blooper exploration. If you're gonna follow some simple cake recipe to make every scenario work, you shouldn't be playing the game. Although the game designers might be grateful of your money waste
