Skyrim DLC Hearthfire Crash

After playing Skyrim for 888 hours I downloaded Hearthfire. When I try to go into the house in Whiterun the game crashes back to the desktoop. If I verify the local file I get the message that one file needs to be reacquired. Then there is a download but every time I verify the local file I get the same message and the download. I have tried restarting Steam a number of times. I have a number of mod's and if I turn them all off I don't have the problem.
