The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Am I the only person I liked the main quest?
I mean it may not be as good as Oblivion's and Morrowind's but I still thought it was pretty dang good, I thought it started out slow (but so did Morrowinds), and towards the middle of the quest it starts to pick up. The best parts are when you travel to Alduin's Wall, get the Elder Scroll, and when you travel to Sovengard and fight Alduin. Thats just what I thought.

That was a dumb turn of events, I liked the Blades until they asked me to do that. Darn it Delphine, Esbern is still a badass :)
I enjoy the main quest my fav part is when you call off the war for awhile note have to not join anyone side in the war for this to happen. I killed paartunax sadly easy fight.
After 400 hours of gameplay, the Mainquest becomes quite boring. But I remember enjoying it the first time I played it through. The times the quests glitcehd was even better xD When for example the first time fighting Alduin on the throat of the world, he suddenly was unable to take any damage and I was forced to flee :p
I never joined the blades and have completed the main quest twice. Blades are seperate. I was not going to exterminate the dragons. I decided that was lame.
I always thought the Blades quests to be stupid. " We are here to protect and serve the dragonborn" Now go out and kill some dragons and generally put yourself in harms way while we sit on our arse overlooking a valley and enjoying the view. That is my take on the Blades.
The only thing I wished there was was a great movie/cutscene at the end.
I thought the main quest quest was okay, but nothing special.
370 hours and i have yet to visit the Greybeards. LOL! Also haven't finished the DB questline. Haven't even touched the Bards, Blades, Dawnguard, or Dragonborn questlines either. Have yet to join the Empire or the Stormcloaks. I'm too busy doing side quests, leveling, collecting epik lewt, and getting generally uber. I sometimes restart from scratch so that's another thing. My being easily distracted doesn't help an...oh look a shiny object! *runs off*

It was alright. It blew the civil war quest line out of the water but it had NOTHING on the main quest line from Morrowind.

Atleast we didn't have to close Oblivion gates. Thats a big plus lol.

I think the whole game is awesome.

Paarthurnax Choices plus3 is a mod that will enable you to lecture the Blades out of making you kill Paarthurnax (or you can lie about it to them) and you can then continue doing side quests for both the Greybeards and the Blades factions.

As to the main quest... underwhelming but I think the whole series has been slightly downhill since Morrowind. I'm just an old fogey. :)
I thought the main quest line was ok but a little too short, especially since it was the "main" questline. They should have made it a lot longer, entailed a lot more moral choice, and given Alduin more screen time. In fact, they could have had an alternate questline where you can debate some sense into him (as Parthurnaax said, Dragons regard debates the same way they do combat, so a debate quest could have been fun.) Don't get me wrong, it was fun, but it just felt rushed and way too short.

The civil war was fairly decent but could have been better presented. Both sides in my opinion are not great sides; both are equally at fault for the turmoil going on with Skyrim and it felt more like you chose the side that appealed more to your personal moral choice. And even then, you have to wonder if the side you chose was really the appropriate side after all. If and when I restart a new character in skyrim I will probably play the questline without choosing a side to see if the results would be better.

This is something I wanted as well. In a game more about combat, Fallout: New Vegas, if you had a talky character you could talk your way through 90% of the combat including the final boss, regardless of chosen faction. In Skyrim - for a game supposedly all about "playing your way" - it almost always boils down to combat. Maybe it should be about "combat your way." :P
