Where did my carl go? Lydia just disappeared, can anyone tell me how to find her?

It could be that she's just fallen behind cuz she was injured. Or a glitch happened.

Had one of those today where Lydia killed a Dragon and then disappeared as she was on it's head and she glitched out.

Try waiting an hour or two, if she isn't there then she's probably dead.

Try fast travelling, if you haven't already. If alive she will appear by your side. If she is stillmyour follower. For example, starting the companion quest will temporarily give you a new follower at several places in the quest.

prid 000A2C8E (this is Lydias ID Number)
moveto player

theres a console command that you can use from the skyrim wiki that will place her to you, sometimes she just falls through the world, never to be seen again, or shes at your house in whiterun sitting and eating your sweetrolls.

Thank you SneakyPedro for the info. This game is a lot of fun but very intense too. I accidently killed Melborn and I am sure there will be some kind of terrible punishment ahead of me for that.

I've had Lydia disappear on me, spent about three hours looking, went back to Dragonsreach, and then went to my house to drop off my loot, and guess who was in Breezehome?! Lydia.

The followers sometimes tire of waiting and leave your company, heading to the original spot where you enlisted them; the game announces this briefly by a message in the upper left corner too.

So people still play with Lydia a lot? I remember when EVERYONE had her as a follower back in the day (like december 2011) and there were memes everywhere, but then it looked like it died down when they discovered she wasn't actually the hottest NPC in Skyrim.

lol i took her to Raven Rock for the 1st time she said "so this is solstheim, not much to look at" or something like that ehhehe i think most people like her just because shes convenient, one of the 1st followeres you can grab if you choose to pursure vanilla Dragonborn questline from the start, i prefer the Priestess of Azura that caster is so dependable, summons 2 types of atronachs, has great sneak and can pick expert locks.
