Elder Scroll Removeal?

So I have this Elder Scroll from the Quest 'Discerning the Transmundane', the quest were you get the book The Oghma Infinium. After finishing the quest, I noticed I still had the Scroll in my Inventory. I tried to give it to my follower, but Apparently it still counts as a quest item, so I cant take it out. I know about later in the quest line where you need the elder scroll to learn a shout, but I dont really want to power through the questline just to hang the scroll in a bookcase or whatever, or find out it still wouldnt work. Ive not bought Dawngaurd DLC, so I dont need it for that, and I dont want to sell it, so, is there a way to remove it? Its fairly heavy and I want to put it somewhere, so what can I do to remove it without looseing it?

You are right, you need it later, at the Throat of the World. You can sell it at the college, but Ibeleive you would have to learn the shout first. As to mods, you might have to try nexus, or type elder scrolls in the mods section search window.

if you have the dragonborn DLC and you do the that gets you a free home Serven Manor, you can install a mod from the nexus called '' Black Books Begone '' it has two files install both - one will allow you to hang the Elder scroll on the wall of Serven Manor.
