Ulfric WAS a thalmor agent. it state's he defected somewhat so the thalmor are considering him to be a liability. only reason they havent executed him was because he keep's the civil war in skyrim alive and thus the empire stays ocupied while the thalmor do as they please.

I don't really care about the civil war, I just did it to get it out of the way even though I like the imperial flag more (not the colors, per se), but you can't fight for the forsworn (the actual natives of skyrim) so I chose to fight for the nords.

The Fort Raids are Fun, but I've just finished the quest so those are over.
Actually it lists him as an asset not an agent, and it apears its mostly since they think their manipulating him, even though he is creating a faction that actually wants to stand up to the Thalmor as opposed to apeasing them until their nation is peacefully assimilated like the empire.
Either way, if you go with stormcloaks you get to fight Thalmor and Imperial; plenty of enemies and prisoners on roads en escort to free and fight for!
It is this 'Thalmor activity' that interest me more than the war, Imperial win they do what they like, if stormcloak win is Ulfric a liability to Skyrim if Thalmor plans are go astray. Also your part (dragonborn) you must choose the lesser evil of both sides but you know as I know we want to wipe out the Thalmor, this question is left open?. Like where does the dragonborn takes over Skyrim(not talking about mods) and come high king. Maybe Beth are the only ones that know??
the dragonborn was never destined to become high king though. he was ment to be an Iconic Hero and Legendary general to his/her respective faction's. the war in skyrim will not be brought to a conclusion unless the dragonborn choose's a side.
I realise that but its the Thalmor plans for Skyrim is what bugs me. What is their real reason?, stamping out Talos to me is front, a reason to be there but not their real agenda??

Banning Talos worship creates friction within the Empire that the Thalmor can exploit and if they don't have agents watching what happens they won't know how to do anything. They could also be hunting the remnants of the Blades.

Ulfric seems to be a good honorable man but i belive he is just playing the people of skyrim for his own gain
Kelvy is correct the thalmor do not reaveal in any notes or books of their true plans i thought nothing of it until now what is their big secret i whonder
Ulfric dossier they mention or hint about their plans but really the Empire and Stormcloaks have no idea what they are up to. The civil war is a distraction that aids the Thalmor, chasing down Blades is only finishing off the last war. (war crimes if you like) They won, blades didn't.
the thalmor stamping out the root of the talos worship is definently a cover up for something more serious. while people are focused on them stamping out the worship of talos, killing and finding the remain's of the Blade's and thalmor war party's "cleansing" the non-elven race's in Eylswer, Valenwood & the Summerset Isle's, the Highest Echelon's of the Thalmor are keeping a secret that could blow them completely out of the water.

I can only agree but I want answers, hate being left in the dark. I think there should be an end game for this or part of, that continues on!. Ha! Ha! Beth the suspense will kill me. Read books on dragons they explain why and how they have reappeared, but for the Thalmor mission this info missing.
that is very true. im sort of suprised that no one has tried doing a mod about this yet.
Well according to some interpertations of the Aedra it isn't the power behind the divines that dies, but rather the personality that dies, and that personality could then be replaced. So it is possible that since they would think Talos would be the weakest, being the newest, that they could deal with him and force the apothesiation of an important Thalmor to replace him.

Plus depending on how you interperet the Eye of Magnus it is possible they wanted that since it was Magnus' own Heart of Lorkhan. That would suggest however that Lorkhan might not have been the evil the aedra make him out to be but rather sacraficed himself to stop Magnus from terminating Mundus as he planned once learning it was stealing their power.
