Has Skyrim's DLC been successful?
Skyrim has released three DLCs so far, the first being Dawnguard, the second Hearthfire, and the most recent Dragonborn. Call me a hater but I think that Skyrim's DLC is mediocre. I don't think that Dragonborn was the insane questline that I wanted and had expected, due to the amazing Shivering Isles DLC in Oblivion. I felt that Dragonborn ended too quickly and was too easy. The Miraak boss fight was way too easy and it didn't feel very epic. I also thought the much talked about dragon riding was uncontrollable and was better as a mod. I did like the new armors and other equipment. Hearthfire was even worse. Everything in hearthfire could've been done on a pc mods way before Hearthfire came out. The only thing that I found somewhat worthwile was the ability to adopt a child. I actually liked Dawnguard much more than Dragonborn contrary to popular belief. I thought that both factions were equally interesting to play as. I also thought it was good because it is the only time I've actually wanted to use a follower( Serana). In short I think that Skyrim's DLC is not as good as Oblivion's, and I hope that Bethesda releases a DLC as good as the Shivering Isles.

All of the Elder Scrolls DLCs have been good games. WTF are you whining about?

Dragonborn adds a ton amount of content. Yes the main quest was disappointing and short; but the amount of content is vast.

Dawnguard had a better main quest, but the amount of content added to the game is vastly less than dragonborn.

IMO, the DLC thus far is great, but incomplete. That's why Bethesda said there will be at least 2 more major DLCs for Skyrim.

Clearly the stuff he put in his OP? Basically everything in the OP makes sense as a gripe. You may disagree with his opinions on certain things or the significance of his facts, but he's just stating what he thinks.

And what he thinks is clearly what he's "whining" about so you could have just read the OP.

I was simply stating that there has yet to be a DLC as impressive as the Shivering Isles, which added loads of new content. And no I'm not whining, I think that Bethesda has yet to put out their best content.

Yeah I don't agree at all. IMO the two real DLC's so far have been pretty spectacular. They add tons of new stuff. Hearthfire isn't a "real" DLC like the other two, it's just a cheap little add-on.

I don't think the dlc is bad it's just that we've seen better and there is a mod that pretty much allows you to do anything that you can do in Hearthfire

Mevarek, you are forgetting that many of us cannot run mods, because Skyrim crashes at load. this is why i bought Hearthfire.....it does not crash my game.

Actually, just a thought for what it's worth, it would've been nice for some of the added content from Dawnguard to be added to the standard loot lists around the game. I was stoked to hear that Dawnguard had added crossbows again but I was disappointed to find out that they are only added to the Dawnguard area. Seems a bit silly really. I understand about the localisatioin of herbs and botanical supplies but gargoyles and vampires are added to the main game world environment but the weapons remained localised. Playing my second playthrough with Dawnguard added and still haven't even entered the game environment/storyline that has been attributed to Dawnguard. Yet, with my archer character it would be nice to have the option of a crossbow to take out the likes of Mercer Frey without having to access Dawnguard.

Yes, indeed, Mercer Frey is a scumbag.
