So like a dummy, I erased this by accident.

If I were to uninstall/reinstall the entire game from Steam, would that bring the Hearthfire DLC back in all its bug-ridden glory? Is there another way to get my hearthfire.esm back?

Try the "Verify Integrity of Game Cache"; that may redownload the hearthfire file.

Where do you find the "Verify Integrity of Game Cache"?

right click skyrim in yo library->properties->local files-> verify integrety of game cache

Thanks NightCore. I just found and was waiting for the files to finish verifying. :) It also corrected the issue.

You can use a nifty tool called Recuva to restore fully deleted files if it's not too late.
