Is the Hearthfire DLC worth it?

From what i've heard it isn't that great

For only $5 dollars its not that bad.

The Falkreath house is a nice alternate starting property if you like to do a little adventuring before heading to Whiterun.

Gardens and the Greenhouse are rather nice if your into alchemy.

You can get all the crafting stations in a nice little area.

Also a bunch of bonus items generally come with the furnishings you build.


Also has some less quanitifiable elements such as adding to your ability to roleplay your character.

I'd say no. It doesn't do anything a mod could, and can, do better. And is really unstable (for me, anyway). It doesn't add any unique or interesting items. Gifts for your children, like 5 different pets for your children, different kinds of food, a wooden sword.

It was mainly made for the console users, as they don't have access to the thousands of mods that we do.

No, It's not worth it,Nothing much to do apart from build some houses and adopt kids,get some pets. It's also very buggy.If you can get it very cheap then go for it,but dont pay the full price.
In my opinion it's nothing special.

I agree with the above comments. If you can get it for 50p then go for it just to see for yourself, but other thsn that - as above but also it allows for no creativity in the design so ends up just being a chore. I felt I had good value for money from the Dragonborn DLC but would like a refund for Hearthfire lol.

If you do end up buying Hearthfire, make sure to grab the Unoffical Hearthfire Patch of the workshop or Nexus.

It's worth it if you like building a house and for mods requiring that dlc.

I have to disagree 5 dollars US is worth it just to adopt the kids. As far as building the house I have enjoyed it. Do it a little at a time between quests. Mehrunes Dagon is right about the Unoffical Hearthfire Patch use it by all means.

It just adds a little to the game.
