Have you installed any DLC's or mods with Skyrim?
Check the load order of your Data files.
In small scenic window before pressing play.
Go into Data files
Load order should be:
Skyrim.esm
Update
Dawnguard
Hearthfire
Dragonborn
Texture mods.
Other mods
Any files with ext .esm must be loaded before files with ext .esp
Check the authors notes on any mods you have loaded to make sure they do not conflict or need files you do not have.
After this go into Steam Library
Right Click on Skyrm
Enter Properties > Local Files
Verify integrity of game cache
Exit and restart game.
What do you mean? If you put your cursor on Library and click on All Games then Skyrim should show up in your Library.
skyrim wont install
Hello all,
So I had the game installed, from the disk, onto a ssd i have for games(G:\)
I recently got a new cpu and MB. I re installed everything. windows, my games disk, and another disk i have for program files.
Steam is installed on the games ssd, and i have re installed all the other games i am currently playing. 4 games in all.
I wanted to see how skyrim was running now with all my new stuff.
I cant get it to install! It wont install from the disk, or from install from steam.
"G:\Steam\Steam.exe" -install H:
as H:\ is my dvd.
A window comes up, and says it "creating local game cache files"
Then I get an error message saying "An error occured while installing The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (missing app configuration)
Any Thoughts? I have done some searching but nothing much. does this have something to do with the c++ errors im seeing?
I have tried re installing steam. it did nothing(but lose my batman save file)
I have tried installing it on another drive, didnt work either.
Help me!!

Ok, thought i would post this find.
I did this "try deleting clientregistry.blob file from steam root folder and start steam again let it update" and it allowed for me to get the game to download from steam. it wouldnt however let me install from the disk.
...but its a start!

In steam settings under the local files tab, does steam have the proper drive and folder set for your library? That would be an easy setting to overlook and since you have it installed on g: the setting could default to c:. It should know it's on g:, but it couldn't hurt to check.

if I understand you right, you want to re-use an already installed skrim, which you have moved to another drive ? if so, it won't work properly. You have to make a backup by steam first, afterwards, re-install it. So, if you don't have such backup you need to re-install from DVD or via network.
