My skyrim is broken right from the start

After I download a fresh copy of the game and all I have is Dawnguard, I start a new character, and when I run from the dragon into the first keep I go up the stairs to where the dragon bursts through, but the dragon doesn;t come and I can;t jump down to the inn... How do I fix this? I am litteraly at the begining.

well, first you go to a handy dandy dictionary and then look at it for a few ho-I'M KIDDING!!
sounds like a script issue, i dunno how you gonna fix it, but good luck.
