use the .exe and let it patch the behaviour files. your game should work now
If you are running Mod(s) from NEXUS your going to have compatabilty issues [IE crashes]. The STEAM Mod Library has more compatable MODs. many are revamped from Nexus to work with steam. The more Mods the greater the chance for severe conflicts and corrupted files.
The main issues with Skyrim crashing is Video Drivers [keep them up to date], Insufficent CPU RAM and Video cards. And we can't forget the fact that they couldn't make the game work properly on Every type of system in the world.
The Console is accessed in game via the Tilde [] key.
Some other programs can conflict with Steam/Skyrim like Logitech Setpoint. [One that bothered me]. NORTON Internet Security works well with other programs. Not sure about Macaffe.. Disable [close] any other programs running in the background that you dont absolutely need to have. They eat up resorces..
use BOSS to get rid of 99% of mod issues. these issues can occur with ALL mods from ALL sources since they are made from ONE creation kit. The mods optimization is a thing from the modder, not the platform. Mods from the Nexus installed with Nexus Mod Manager are nearly foolproof to use. if you install your mods manually you will need BOSS.
and corrupted files can also come from steam just sayin...
same goes for conflicts...
