Controller vs Keyboard&Mouse
Do you guys recommend playing Skyrim on a controller? I've recently gotten a 360 controlled and have been playing some games with it (to get a bit better on controller I guess)

But what do you think? Does the keyboard/mouse set have more options and control over the game rather than a controller? Or just similar?

skyUI with a mouse and keyboard is how I do it and I've only been gaming on PC for a few months. I only use gamepads on 3rd person games for the most part.

Mouse and Keyboard with SkyUI installed is the way to go. But the with no mods installed there's really no advantage to using a M+KB over a controller. The game was designed with a controller in mind.

Hmm, alrighty then. I'm deciding to use mods after I complete the game, so a controller would be nice till then. Thanks :)

Skyui fixes all the issues I had with mouse/keyboard

I use SkyUI with a 360 pad just fine, infact the L&R bumpers will cycle through accending and decending lists for things like value and weight, so you gain functionality. There's really no reason to use the stock user interface unless you're playing a good distance away from the screen and have a hard time reading the smaller fonts. (You can increase the fonts in SkyUI to some degree, but not as large as the stock fonts.)

Skyrim in general has pretty decent gamepad support out of the box, and I have to admit that I preffer the gamepad over traditional M&K due to the way the controls on the mouse are setup. (Right click = Left hand / Left Click = Right hand VS Right trigger = Right hand etc. )

If it were a competitive shooter I'd stick with a mouse and keyboard, but since it's a game that's all about immersion, I think the analog controls (espically for movement) just add to the atmosphere.

Lol, I never really noticed this until you wrote it out. No wonder I always cast healing when I want oakflesh or whatever it's called. /mindblown

If you think like a PC user, it's not a problem. DON'T think in terms of left vs right. Think in terms of primary versus secondary. Your sword is primary so you click the primary button (the one under your primary finger). Your shield is secondary so you click the secondary button (the one under your second finger). This works regardless of whether you are right or left handed.

The only time I stumble is when I look on the screen to see what I have in my hand. Then I think to myself "oh, I have healing in my left hand so I should click the left button". It only happens when I have two spells though. If I have weapon and a spell it's fine.
