Cant have a steward?
My house, lake view manor, is preventing me from having a steward?

Vortex who are you trying to make a steward because some of the followers cant be stewards because there "main characters" or close to it try to get someone like very uninportant and see if it works.

A housecarl is assigned when promoted to Thane in any Hold.

Housecarls are assigned , Stewards are hired.

To hire a steward you have to have them as a current companion and take them to the house, then initiate conversation while outside your house.

Marcurio can be a steward, I personaly use him.. Do you have a wife and children living in your house? there needs to be at least one free bed after taking those people into account.
