Keyborad/mouse not working [SOLVED]
Ok so here's the thing. I have not played skyrim in a long time, but i recently decided to take it up again because of all the upraor of the paid modding. I was very exited to get back into it...

When I booted it up, the first thing I noticed was no mouse. I thought "Well, maybe it will fix itself." So to navigate my menu, I used the arrowkeys and enter, whitch were the only keys that worked. When I loaded my character, I could not move or look around. escape will not work, along side everything else but the console (~). I was forced to alt+tab and task manager it. I have been searching for a solution for a while and cant seem to find one, for all the other users have problems similar, but not exact.

Solutions I have tried:
-Deleting SkyrimPerfs in both Documents and Common
-Disabling steam overlay
-Reinstalling
-Verifying
-Comp. Restart
-Mod wipe/Redownload
-New save file
None of these have worked thus far...

I do NOT own a gamepad
I do NOT have a controller, and never have I used one on a PC
I ONLY have a keyboard and mouse

Keyboard: Corsair K70 Vengance (now an Orion Spark G910)
Mouse: Logitech G502
(Not sur if relavant)

Any help would be apreciated. I gave all the detail I could. If someone needs more, ask and I shall deliver.

I will try a shutdown and tweak a few things.

Is the "Setpoint" The software that is used to modify all the aspects of the device? If so, then yes.

Brb, shutting down. Will deliver results.

EDIT: Reports...!

Full shut down, made a burrito, then tunred it on. Still not working...

Changed USB Slots...

Losing hope, sorta, but I dont wana give up.

I've had problems with Skyrim not "capturing" my KB since reinstalling it again, and I have to alt-tab out and back in to get it to work properly. So try that, see if it helps.

I have tried that before, acutally many times. in my furious Alt+tabbing, I problably did that like, 5 times. Seemed like a good solution at the time, but I suppose my computer had other plans.

Have you tried updating your drivers?

Omfg, dont even START with drivers... i had to spend HOURS on drivers to get my computer to work, and in the long run, thats not even what was causing the blue screens! I know my drivers are up to date.

Sorry for the tone in my delivery. I think I suffer from PTSD from that ♥♥♥♥... (not acutually. Could offend someone.) Maybe I'll try once more with them if the prodcedure that Grimus gave does not work, that I still have to try.

I had the same issue today (haven't played skyrim for months until today). The alt-tabbing thing worked for me though (Thanks @Pat!), although I did reomve the usb for my controller, and did kill the skyrim process a couple of times first before I saw this thread. I noticed I sometimes have problems when in fullscreen mode (both today and months ago), requiring me to alt-tab to skyrim twice before things went back to normal, so maybe try either fullscreen/window setting to see if that affects it.

Check your settings, maybe you have your xbox controller enabled.

Im glad you figured it out, Kirino. Maybe I'll try non-fullscreen IF Grimus's does not work.

If you can point me to a direction where i can manually edit that, (like, tn the files) then that would work just fine. Esc does not work in game and I can't edit the controlls on the splash start screen or the Main Menu, so I cannot access the controlls settings.

The thing is, I feel like that would work, too. but I cant do that... As of now.

F--King god, that did not work either...

I don't know what to do at this point. I might just have to stop and move on, unless someone can work miracles with another solution...

I apreciate all the help, grimus. you actually took the time to help a stranger on the internet the best you could. If I could thank you in a better way, I would. But I seems now my comuter has plans for itself.

If there is another thing I could try, then I will. But for now, it's not the worst thing to ever happen.

EDIT: Typoes, I'm bad with them,

Uninstall "SetPoint". Check "msconfig" for "Startup Programs" related to kb/m or listed as no-no's in Steam Kbs on background programs. Your kb might have been bundled with s/w and oddly it might interfere with mouse in Skyrim. No sharp objects or prophylactics (check for Razor and anti-virus issues).

Open in a text editor:

..Users\<YOURUSERNAME>\Documents\My Games\Skyrim\SkyrimPrefs.ini

Search for [Controls]

What are the settings in there?

[Controls]
fGamepadHeadingSensitivity=1.0000
fMouseHeadingSensitivity=0.0125
bAlwaysRunByDefault=1
bInvertYValues=0
bGamePadRumble=1
bMouseAcceleration=1

Does that help at all?

I visited this back when I was in a mad search for a solution. The problem seems to be the Shift+Tab thing, but I've tried that.
Smallun May 4, 2015 @ 10:35pm
Well, shoot me in the face with a shotgun, I found the solution...

In the documents perfs.ini, not common directory, There is a section titled "Main" with an option for gamepad enabled. I just changed it to 0.

The problem was everyone was pointing me in the direction of the controls section, whitch did not have anything for me. it's under Main.

Thanks for the efforts, guys. I really apreciate you helping a stranger in the ways you did.

brb, gonna download mods till it crashes.
