Not Gonna Crucify Valve/Bethesda Over This
Honestly, I just see this paid mod thing a failed/bad business venture. They most likely thought they (Valve and Bethesda) could rake in a little extra dough along with the modders.

I will crucify Valve/Bethesda for this, so you don't have to.

We're gonna do it for you.

Fair enough and I agree. Although I have to add that this goes even deeper than that with the community more or less lynching each other. Really makes you proud to be called a human gamer, right?

That is nice of you to not crucify them over this, but I am hella crucifying Valve/Bethesda over this. The thing that pisses me off about it is how much they screw the little guy (mod developers) through this deal. Skyrim is the game it is today BECAUSE of the developers, not because of Valve or Bethesda. The fact that they think they should get 75% of the profits shows how little they care for the community and developers who support them. Without mods, Skyrim would just be a subpar rpg with terrible character interaction and dialogue. Screw those guys!

People have 'cusified' EA for less.

"A little extra" is 10%

Modders should receive at least 51%

Heh, wait until you look at EA's history... Now that is evil and a story for another time.

They're trying to make money which is what they do and there is nothing wrong with that.

It's when they say that they are "supporting" modders that they are to blame.

The workshop would require a dedicated team of moderators making sure everything is kosher and nothing is stolen or ripped from other games or unlawful sources and it doesn't look like that's the way it's headed at the moment.

Mods that violate copyright laws usually get a pass because they are free. Anyone who is going to try and sell a lightsaber mod or a LoR armour mod on the workshop is going to be standing on thin ice.

I mean, the most expensive mod is being bought at $5.99, and considering it a 40%-35%-25% split between Valve, Bethestda, and the Modders respectively, all parties are just making penny cash. But it still is bs that the modders are getting the smallest cut.

All penny cash?

The modders get that cut from their mods, Valve and Beth get from ALL paid mods.

Just one party is making "Penny Cash"

Bull. The money is wired directly into their bank accounts.
