If the game keeps crashing, then you might try to verify the integrity of your game cache with a clean cacke. We can give you instructions, if it comes to that.
- Go to game and move your character away from the crashing area.
- Exit game. Exit Steam
- Go to Steam folder and remove folder named appcache
- Go to Documents > My Games > Skyrim
- Remove files Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini. (Extensions might not be visible, depending on your Windows settings.
- Close your computer. Let it shut down. Then start it again.
- Start Steam. It will load few seconds, while inspecting your games and creating the new appcache folder for you.
- From Steam client Library view, right click the game.
- Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity of Game Cache...
- Let it run.
- Open the default launcher and let the game configure itself. New Skyrim.ini will be created automatically
- Launch the game and redo your ingame settings. New SkyrimPrefs.ini will be created automatically.
* 1 file will always fail to validate. It is related to how Steam detects your graphic card configurations and does not have any negative effect to your game.
If you do not have any mods, except Unofficial Patches, then this should really fix the problem. If not, then the problme might be related to memory bugs in the game. We have solutions that may fix those as well.
