What happened to a supportive, fun, inclusive forum?
Increase in nastiness, criticism if posters haven't used precisely correct spelling/grammar (usually by people whose critical messages are lacking themselves) - what's the deal?
What is this Forum for?
Sharing info/experience/fun about a game? Or something different?
Can we eliminate this unneccessary nastiness that alienates and puts people off posting in this INTERNATIONAL forum?
Or do we stand by and watch - thereby supporting it?

I agree with you, you can flag an original post but not the comments that people respond with. At least I haven't figured out how yet.

Edit: My BAD, just noticed that you actually can. DAAA.

I agree. It can be frustrating when it seems like someone is just being lazy and not bothering to ask their question clearly, but that's no reason to be rude, because apart from anything else, for all you know they may speak English as a second, third or fourth language, they could have learning difficulties, etc.

There is an option for that. When you move the mouse on someone else's comment, you see options to either quote it in your own response or flag it. Quoting is represented by an arrow while clicking the flag reports the post for inappropriate content.

Glad to see I'm not alone in this :)

I think we have been quite supportive, but we have been lately lacking fun - like it is prohibited by a law. I also occasionally see outright rude posts for someone who is asking for help.

No one needs to use this forum as their personal search engines, but when someone is actually asking for help, they sometimes get called by names. I really don't like or understand that.

I try to look at birght side of things. One lout got me so worked up in Steam (not in this forum, though) that I was still a bit angry at the gym. I broke my deadlift record that day. It had stood still for a long time before that day, but now weights are going up again.

I really should thank that guy for it, once his ban ends.

Several things to bring up:

1) This is one of the more polite boards I've seen on the internet >.<. I only stick around with those that are civil...so there are very few forums I actually use with regularity =/

2) I agree, so long as we differentiate between bringing errors to attention and just ridiculing the person for having them. (i.e.: Spacebattles forum logic XD)

3) I'm pretty sure I know the thread that brought this up for Fayde. It did get rather mean in there. Even so, it was very difficult to understand the OP, so some of the comments (which weren't just there to insult) were warranted.

S'all I wanted to say >.<. All just my opinions, of course.

Thanks for trying to bring the forum to a higher level of civility, Fayde ^^

(Btw, you're always awesome and helpful Fayde :D You too Gnewna. You should be moderators or something >.<)

edit: But I do agree with Ref. My patience and civility runs thin when I see a forum post asking for a mod that could be found by google searching the topic title >__> That's just lazy.

I try to be polite however my patience wears thin if there are 5 topics on the first page from different OP's where they ask for help for a game that's ctd's clearly involving mods .... I mean use google or the help function. People should make an effort to solve this for themselves you can learn out of your mistakes.

I definitely agree that this Forum stands well above most Forums, even moderated chatrooms, on the internet (in my limited experience).
The assistance, acceptance, and patience I was shown when first here - indeed, still shown it - has been a terrific experience.
As has been noted, laziness is frustrating to come across, but from my side of the computer screen I for one can't tell when someone's typing/question is a result of laziness, or (as has also been noted) some other barrier such as language/disability/medical condition, etc.
Adura I think you do know the thread that broke this camel's back lol. Not the worst I've seen - and I heartilly acknowledge the assistance that was provided the OP and the convoluted style of the question he/she posed - I dunno, I just reckon it's too hit and miss to judge laziness over other barriers and too impactful to people when we get it wrong...
Is apparent laziness worth our anger, and a critical response? Or should we instead ignore the thread altogether?
Not Mr Innocent here, by the way :)
Thanks for the comments - likewise, Adura
@All posters - thank you for opinions on this :)

...btw common in here that laziness regarding searching for help is an issue - what can we do to encourage folk to learn how to fish, when they come asking to be given a fish?
ie- some sort of Advisory atop the Forum?

I have a preference >_> But I was told it was rude. I just think it's hilarious XD

link the following with the search that would get the mod:

edit: problem with using the advisory: those who come looking for fish, and who don't know how to fish, would miss them =/

Hahaha - nothing like humour to offset negative feelings :)
...Get's the point across, and not personal...

...still learning how to drive this thing myself - might catch a few though...

I love lmgtfy, but I rarely have the chutzpah to use it.
Fayde 9 mai. 2014 às 4:21
...another thing I've "picked up" (read; Assumed) from certain Posts is a desire from Posters to connect with other people who share a common interest (Skyrim, games, etc) and I wonder if that's what's behind some posts...
Adura 9 mai. 2014 às 4:21
I'd use it every time if people didn't get angry at me over it >.< Honestly, it's meant as a partial joke and partial guide XD

They never believe me, though ; ;

I can't think of a way to help everyone at once, but telling each individual that they should a) google, and b) use nexus may be the best we can manage =/ (Which we already do XD)
