Limited to 50 mods suddenly?
Could somebody help me with this? I was playing Skyrim with 78 mods last week... and suddenly after I decided to come back a week later and play the game again, the game restricted me on loading up 50 mods. I check the data files and it said "not subscribed" but when I check it on Workshop it state I have subscribe on it.

It's is happening to most of us. There are a number of threads addressing this. Some folks say it is a glitch some say it is by design. I wonder if Steam has even thought to tell us anything?
It seems to be a bug and hopefully will be fixed soon, just dont do anything do your mods or it will screw up your game.
Testify!
I just restarted,...again! XD
(At least they aren't blaming "Live Another Life" this time. LOL!)
I hope this is not permanent. I don't want to familiarized myself with other mod manager.

nexus is free
I don't mind paying money. I just want a simple tool like, Steam provided.
Nexus is free and simple. I see 0 reason to not use it unless you're just that lazy.
Correct Nexus is free. I use NMM and launch my game via it's menu using SKSE and have had no problems with my game. I have over 100 mods from Workshop and maybe 50 plus from Nexus and my game is running fine.
@Hamsterbytes So you can run workshop mods as well as Nexus mod? Won't it conflict on the load order?
@Lozzle well, You just mention one reason, I am lazy.

Would one of you computer literate types be willing to add/freind and old guy who has tried to use nexus but keeps getting beaten by the computer? I'm not stupid, the tests prove it, but I can not for the life of me figure out Nexus.

And I mean walk me through click by click.

To fix this problem, I looked at alot of disscusions and found something to help. First I disabled SteamCloud. To do this I went to the game library and right clicked skyrim, and clicked properties then Updates. In updates it gives you the choice to disable Steam Cloud, which I did. Then I restarted and updated my computer. I clicked my SKSE and it went to the steam menu, so I let it sync the 50 mods, then i exited and tried again. This worked for me, I hope it will help.
I'm not going to walk you through click by click but basically, once you're signed up on nexus and have the mod manager downloaded it, let it scan your HDD and select any of the nexus compatible games you own and let it load up Skyrim. From there, once you're logged into the site and find a mod you want, click download with manager and it should automatically start in the mod manager. Once it's finished, double click on the mod and it's installed and that's it.

Note that some mods say they can be downloaded through nexus but don't work all that well or some mods don't use it at all, there are a few you have to manually install like SKSE or other mods that you need to select bits of. Always,ALWAYS read the descriptions and look for any conflicts and of course how to install. You don't want to load up on 80 mods to find out your game is broken and then not know why. Just use common sense and pay attention. Once you do it once or twice, it becomes super easy and you can add mods all day like a boss.
