THE BACK STORY
You are a imperial in cyridel who is trying to make it as a big name author and you just finished a book, and to your surprise a man shows up at your house and offers you a publishing deal, you agree and invest 10,000 septims in him, which was almost all of your money. You later found out he was just a thief that scammed 10,000 septims off of you,now you have lost your house and decide to try the life of a mercenary and when you get back on your feet start writing again, you got your first job about a week after the thief scammed you and you were to escort a rich noble man across the border to skyrim,on the trail you stopped to rest a bit and planned on catching up with the noble man and the other guard later, but as you wandered the wilderness looking for them, lost, you stumbled upon darkwater crossing and are ambushed by imperials and are captured along side stormcloaks.after you arrived at helgen they were going to execute you and the stormcloaks when a dragon attacked, you luckily survived and decided to settle down in solitude where you would write books again, but as you made it to riverwood you were asked to go inform the jarl of the dragon attack, and thus your story begins.
____________________________________________________________________________
THE ROLEPLAY
You will need to think like a writer, for example if you see a man fighting off a troll, think hmm could i make that into a story,or base a story on it? this is what you should be doing, also
you are not much of a fighter so you rely on sellswords for combat, and from your spoiled life, you enjoy the finer things in life which means no clunky armor just fine cloths and fine weapons, and when you think you got your self a good story, open the creation kit and make the book, ingame add 10 copies to your inventory and sell them to merchants or use a market stall mod if you have one.
____________________________________________________________________________
THE GAMEPLAY

Combat
------------
you really on sellswords to fight for you so you stay in the back with a dagger and watch the fight :) if your sellsword happens to die, don't hesitate on running.

Weapons
-------------
you will mostly use a dagger and not be using it much,if you would like you could invest in restoration to heal your sellsword.

Quests
-----------
Any quests that you think would make for a good story will work, just rember to always bring your sellsword!.

Skills
--------
Speech is one of the main things you will use,and if you like you can invest in restoration for your follower.

Battle mage huh?... I am starting to like this kind of thing, magic is a very powerful thing that is pretty under rated in my opinion.

I really like the angle on having your own books in the game, that's some imagination you have! Am I correct in thinking that you are offering an idea for one to role-play in their own game?

Or perhaps this could be an idea for a mod, you could write some books, and then offer them for download into the community players' games? Like an adventure turn to page 'x' adventure series? I thought of this and would love to get into it, thanks for the link!
[KL] Master Dan [StormCats]@ You are welcome it is very easy to make books, and also i tried making a mod were you could write in game, but it failed do to the engine limitations and im not very good with code :/

Yeah, the Take Notes! Journal of the Dragonborn mod (which is pretty cool, btw) description I think says they tried to do a thing where it would make it into a book in-game but it doesn't seem to be possible.

I rather like this idea, anyway :)

I use the journal of the dragonborn mod for this build to take notes, and you can write your own books and put them in game using the creation kit (link in first post),its really fun writing your own storys and puting them in game,i was thinking about making a library mod when i write enough books in the creation kit and the library keeper would be my skyrim character :)

Hmm, what about a simple ''turn to page 'X' adventure book? Forgive me for not looking at the link just yet, but is there a limit on the number of pages allowed for each book? I made a little funny note in a book and dropped it in my game once, but nothing else really...

I think there might be a limit, but it would be in the hundreds of pages probably, ive wrote some pretty big in game books.
Do an adventure one then! It's crying out to be done as a mod! I'm a gonna go see what I can do anyway :P

cheers! :)

There's at least one already in game (Kolb and the Dragon) which made me SO HAPPY when I found a copy. Also Inigo, the awesome khajiit follower mod has one which he reads to you :D More of this sort of thing!
Well, there ya go. Yeah, I found the one ''for boys'' tsk tsk eh? hehe

Yeah, I used to have loads as a kid: You approach a crossroads, to go left, turn to page 25, to go right, turn to page 56, to go ahead, turn to page 5.....and so on. Tricky to construct at first, but you have to mix up the pages a lot so the page turning / searching is more fun and spread throughout the book so you're going back and forth like a mad man! :P

It all depends on your choices...Don't forget to throw a number of DEAD ends in there...ie: if you go ahead at the crossroads, and turn to page 5, it might result in a Dragon suddenly appearing and you die! But this was the fun in those books...to see how long you could survive without hitting a ''you died'' page. (this is why it is important to make quite a few of them, but not too many; it is done with practice)

Good luck! My profile comments are public, so if you like you can lemme know there how you get on! :P

Hmm, I must look at Inigo, I have heard of him a while back and didn't look into it! Durrrr, silly, for someone such as moi....

I am working on it as we speak, but it may take about a week as im a slow writer and i havint done many adventure books,it is going to be a book were you live the adventures of talos and if you get far enough into the book, the copy of the brass god (not shore if your on pare with the lore just tell me if you don't know what the brass god is.)

Inigo is awesome, I unfortunately had to uninstall him as he was doing weird things with Hearthfire (i.e. there was a known Hearthfire CTD bug thing which only happened when he was with me) and I haven't felt ready to commit to having him back and possibly knackering my game again (although I'm not living in Lakeview this time, so maybe it'd be safe...) but he was SO GOOD. Do you use the Khajiit Speak mod? I really like that one when I play as a Khajiit.

Sorry, gone off topic! But Inigo is an author so it's still soooooooort of on topic ;)
Well, CowboySharpShot, for the sake of not dropping spoilers, you go for it and we'll be sure to await your announcement in a future thread!

@gnewna: AW YEAH I was so excited to find it.(the book Kolb + Dragon)..it was strewn on a hillside where some guy was dead alongside a cart with overspilled books...hmm, west north west of Whiterun I think...but I guess it's a random spawn.

Speaking of which, I feel so sad when I see a dead Khajiiti trader by his cart of stuff <sniff>
:(

(but it's okay...he's just playing dead, cause I seed his tail move! so ner!)

PHEW! :D Yeah, my last Khajiit was on Live Another Life and I chose the 'left for dead' start, I'm pretty sure that guy was her husband or brother :( :( :( But maybe he was just bored of her tagging along and playing dead. Yeah.
