How many times did you meet M'aiq the Liar?

In a playtrough you barly meet him sometimes not at all. How many times did you meet him

Him and his grandfather and grandfather's grandfather. We sees these khajit many times.

I have seen him multiple times in each playthrough. No matter where I travel in skyrim he shows up as if he is following me.

What is his purpose in the game? I have talked to him on occation but he just says some random line and that's it. Is he part of some quest?

(No, he's not quest related, he's just a random world encounter who says some cool stuff).

M'aiq's purpose is to let you know things aint how they used to be. His comment on butterflies tells you this.. ;)

He is kind of a legacy easter egg of TES game series.

With my current character 3-4 times. Over all 10? Surprisingly he's a fair fighter, once I saw him fighting 2 bandits and a Frostspider another time. A real surprise was when I say him IN Riften. As in the city. Didn't know he could do that.

Well he's not in a kajiit caravan probably that is the reason, because there is also a kajiit women in Riften ... thalmor spy she attacks you during the main story
