Legendary Edition comes with all the dlc's (so at a discounted price) and a hard mode, the legendary mode.
The only difference beteen the Legendary version and the standalone version is whether you want the DLC or not. The difficulty is available to all versions of Skyrim

Ya, any mod that requires the DLC

Some dlc can't be used, but its mainly armor and weapon mods.
DLC adds about 20 hours to the vanilla game, but the vanilla game can last from 20-200 hours depending on if you do side quests.Up to you if you want to shell out the extra cash.
Yes, quite a few mods require the dlcs. I noticed many housing/marriage mods in particular require Hearthfire, and Dawnguard is also used quite often for a variety of mods.

As for the content of the dlcs themselves, Dawnguard and Hearthefire are good, but Dragonborn adds the most content by far and is the most fun. You don't NEED the dlcs to get a full experience, but they are quite fun. If you have the money, go for the Legendary edition. if not, buy vanilla and wait for a steam sale to get the dlcs. The base game is amazing on its own though, and you can always add some mods if you beat the majority of it (which should take a very long time if this is your first playthrough).
WOW *.* thank you guys for the fast replies :D

one last question, does the DLC's runon top of the original game or its separate?
I mean is there a seperate map or something or just the same game with the dlc features? And is the a separate launcher for the DLC?

Thanks a bunch :)

All the DLC's are incorporated into the game world, same launcher, same program, more content. some of the dlc's have unique world maps that you access from in-game, by traveling and doing quests and such, but they're well-implemented.
legendary edition is so much better...............................
Legendary Edition is great, but there's one thing that's better.
For $60 on Amazon, you can get The Elder Scrolls: Anthology.

It comes with:
The Elder Scrolls: Arena
The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall
The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind Game-of-the-Year Edition
Morrowind - Bloodmoon Expansion
Morrowind - Tribunal Expansion
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game-of-the-Year Edition
Oblivion - All DLC
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Skyrim - All DLC: Dawnguard, Hearthfire, Dragonborn
+ TES Construction Kit
+ Exclusive Disc Case
+ Exclusive Physical Maps of Tamriel (5, one for each game)
+ Steam Code for Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim to Download Through Steam
+ TES: Online Information

Note: Arena and Daggerfall can be downloaded for free from Bethesda's website.

I think this is a much greater deal. I mean, for the same price that Steam offers Skyrim: Legendary Edition and for $20 more than stores offer Skyrim: Legendary Edition, you get Skyrim with all its DLC (which is practically the legendary edition), as well as the rest of the main games in the franchise and all of their DLC.

It's perfect.
I've bought it, and I love it.
The case the game comes in is in pretty good quality, too.

Either one has Legendary mode.

For the topic, I'd go for the Legendary Edition (if not TES: Anthology).

TES V & DLC's - $75 (altogether)

TES V; Legendary Editon - $60

Anthology is the better though, because you get all 5 with DLC's included for $80.

Nothing can beat that.
Thank you so much for the help, I think ill go with the legendary pack on steam because I dont live in the US to get the game from amazon plus i prefer digital content.

thanks again
