The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Stop Nexus downloads?
I started a massive download without realizing how big it was (it was the Interesting Npc's mod), and I'm trying to figure out how to cancel the download before my computer resorts to eating ram in hopes of making this mod work. Anyone have a clue?

Oh my. I was worried I'd be the only one getting the massive download for that. To cancel it, go into your downloads tab, click on it, and then click on the red circle with a line through it.

iNPCS is like 1.5 GB; but it's one of the BEST mods on the Nexus. I would let it finish so you can play it

K, I'm gonna trust you on that.
It's an outstanding mod. There is no reason to worry that you won't like it - You will. :) Just be sure that you're not going to have any conflicts with other mods that you enjoy.
What kind of mod is it exactly ?
(to lazy to search & check nexus for it right now)

It adds to various locations new NPC's and changes some (Like Drelas who is no longer hostile) and gives them a huge backstory and sometimes a fun quest.
I love it, unfortunately I couldn't get it to work properly with AFT (even with a patch), and it ended up knackering a character I was really enjoying. Could just be me messing things up, but possibly worth exercising caution if you're using AFT. (I played with INPCs for about four or five game days, with one particular follower, when suddenly he started walking off in the wrong direction, and I couldn't do anything to get him to come with me again. Eventually I tried dismissing him and that seemed to have worked, but when I got the carriage back to Whiterun he turned up and wouldn't go away.)
Thanx for the info.
:-)
Really I can't even imagine how the game is without.
It seems to be the luck of the draw, I think. Definitely make a back up of your saves before installing it. Also, I learned when I tried uninstalling AFT (I know, I know, don't uninstall mods mid-game) that not only is it a pretty tedious process, but, unless I misunderstood, you can't uninstall it to play a different character, then re-install it to go back to your old guy, because it reinstalls as a different instance, or something. I don't know if maybe that's actually the same for other mods, but it's something to bear in mind if you might be thinking of trying INPCs on another character altogether.
I *think* there's a patch, but I didn't realise that when I first installed it, so there's no way really of knowing whether it would have prevented the issues I had, but it seems like a good start. Hope you can get it to work, do let me know as I'd like to use it on my next playthrough and if the patch seems to help maybe I'll not have to do without AFT (which I love, also).
I basically decided: "♥♥♥♥ it, I'll just wait it out and deal with it" in the end.

Thing is you don't actually need to uninstall it to play a different character, you just disable the mod in NMM (nexus mod manager) when you are using a save that you don't want it on and then when you go back to your other character re-enable it. :)

ps. disabling a mod is not the same as uninstalling it.

That's sort of what I thought but I wasn't confident enough that I was right ;) Thanks!

Np, also uninstally and reinstalling mods all the time can actually cause issues if NMM forgets what files were overwrote or backed up, so that 'if' it messes up you have no idea how to fix it without redoing your entire mod install list, imagine it messing up when you have over 230 mods installed, after experiencing that firsthand i would not wish it upon my worst enemy.....now Odaviing on the other hand......
