Well, thats a typical Bethesda RPG, too generic and more often than not makes no sense. Imo lack of npc awareness for a hero progression isnt the worst thing in Skyrim. It is dialogues that are real immersion breaking. It feels that theyr are written by/for 10 year old kids. Most of dialogues follow the following pattern: short explanation of upcoming task/problem, and then reply from a hero yes/do you need any help?... Totally pathetic I must say.

Yeah, like when your done with the dark brotherhood and only the mother is above you and you are in full brotherhood garb , yet that black briar lady in Riften threatens to have the brotherhood kill you.... There really should be another dialogue option there...

There is a mod that strikes down smart assed guards. Divine retribution or something i think it's called.

Same with the colleage of winterhold. Im the damn Archmage, the whole top floor is my chambers. I OWN the place now, and all the plebs still treat me like im new there.

Bloody Nazeem, I battled and trapped a dragon in your friggin' Cloud District then rode the damn thing out of there as I travelled to the afterlife and back to slay the World Eater and save YOUR, and everybody else's souls.

When the guards talk down to me I just remind them that I can ruin their lives with one little shout in one of over 100 ways then point to one of his fellow guards I just turned to a pile of ash with the breathe fire shout!! works everytime or i just break out Andruil from the LOTR weapons pack and lop off his head :D
