Freezing and CTD while exploring
So I bought this game years ago on a different hard drive. I played it on that HD for 56 hours or so, modded to hell and back and never ran into a single problem. Not saying this is caused by a HD swtich (just a weird coincidence) but after I changed HD is when this problem seemed to crop up. So when I first installed this on the new HD and re-modded, it ran for about 2 hours (iirc, years ago) and then it would CTD while I was exploring in the open-world. Wouldn't matter where I'd fast travel to, what I was doing or where I was going, it would always freeze/CTD after 1-10 minutes of gameplay. Tried various fixes, uninstalled/reinstalled and nothing worked so I just gave up and haven't touched the game in years.

Recently I decided to pick this back up and give it another try as it's been maybe 3 years or so. I ran it in vanilla for a good hour or so, but I can't tell if this is caused by mods or not as the CTD seems to trigger randomly after time passes. After running around in vanilla for awhile and everything was running fine, I decided to try modding it once more. I started off small using only SKES (running in admin), NMM, few armor mods and a body mod/slider mod. To my surprise it was running perfectly, for hours even. So I was like well screw it and put a few more mods on there (only about 8 or so) and it worked just fine. A few hours in I decided to install a blood mod in the middle of my playthrough, but that shouldn't have effected anything CTD-wise. I was shocked that I could play this game again and literally nothing important had changed since I played it last. But about 5-7 hours into it, it started to do the CTD while I was exploring the open-world. I have tried various CTD and freeze fix mods, texture fixes, the unoffical Skyrim patch, lowering the settings and keeping track of my RAM (lowest settings I'm under 2.5 gigs of RAM usage), I've went to 15+ different threads and forums but have yet to find any fix - I'm at a loss again.

My hardware isn't the problem (my rig eats this game for breakfast without any milk) and my AMD drivers are up to date. I just, I don't know guys it doesn't make any sense as to why it does this. My analysis is that game has become self-aware and doesn't want to work. What do you guys think?

Edit: I should also mention that the CTD happens in random parts of the map. I was running to Whiterun and after I was in a certain area it gave me the CTD. I memorized where it was at and made a save right before I stepped in the spot, and each time I re-loaded and stepped into that area, it will always crash in the same spot. The same thing happens around Riften also.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that guide, so many things to test now o.o

Just forget about it guys, I'm just done. After doing a ton of steps on the STEP guide, installing a ton of other ♥♥♥♥ it had me do and the end result (like everything else) is yielding no results. Don't feel like wasting the rest of my day going through every fix hoping it'll work, so I'm just going to accept I'm not allowed to play this game modded anymore and never touch it again.

So how about that FO 4, huh?

FO4 looks cool. Good luck modding it.
