Careful with that though - you might not impress your new found levelled enemies with your alchemical prowess, they'll beat on you regardless. To wit - careful what you level up at the start. :P

I start off with imperial and just loot like crazy. By level 5 i have about 10k gold saved up.

Chop wood and sell at mills, 5 gold per piece. Chopped wood for a day and I walked away with 1500 gold. You can also mine and sell ore, collect alchemy ingredience and sell in town. Collect pelts/hides from hunting and sell, the list goes on but you get the idea.

Edit: If I can't earn it, find it, or steal it, then it isn't needed. I never use console commands.

following the smithing improvement of every weapon and armor and clothing items, then go to enchanting table and add an enchantment. will increase value for re-sale.

Also, look into a mod that gives the merchants more gold. That way they can afford all the stuff you're hauling to their shop. Had problems with that the first time i played. I was loaded like a mule but the merchant in Riverwood had not enough money to buy everything i got :-(

at one point in the merchant perk tree you can invest in them and they will have more gold in their possession. at that point, it's not enough, but you can "additem xxx xxx" I currently have 250000 dragonbone arrows. also wihtin game you can get a "dremora Merchant who has more gold and dremora armor / weapons for sale.
