Can use Illusion spells for the invisible spell specifically and the silent casting perk.
Can put at least 5 -7 points into sneak so you can get the reduced noise perk while in armor.
Can put 2-3 points into lockpicking. (If truely needed, although It isn't all that hard to open locks)
Can also put about 4-5 points into Blocking and become a sheild mage..sheild in one hand, a spell in the other.
After all this you should still have around 15 points left over.
Spending perks in to sneak for reduced noise perks does not make any sense, if Elaini is allready investing to Illusion. Muffle spell is equivalent to Sneak per "Silence" = Armor noice reduction 1.0 (= 100%).
Additionally, any boots - disincluding highest level Nightingale boots - that have muffle enchantment have a value 0.5 (50%) armor noice reduction.
Any boots that player enchants - despite the size of the soul gem used - will give those boots full armor noice reduction value 1.0 <- as with highest level Nightingale boots.
But is that a mage / a thief or a nightingale!!! :D
