I just gave my Daughter 1.000 Gold Coins.
Even better parenting in Cyrodill 1000/10 would throw money in the trash again

giving that much gold isn't good parenting, you just teach your kid to spend, instead of gain

Papa, can I have some allowance?

Here you go, kiddo.

What are these for?

A pick axe and a woodcutter's axe. Go chop some fire wood and sell it to a sawmill owner, then head to a mine dig up some ore and sell that. The gold will mean a lot more to you if you earn it.

Your kid should learn to appreciate the value of a Septim.... keyword "a".

Actually, for early game and kid standards, the amount you can earn from cutting logs is a lot, since all you have to do is grab some short logs and chop em. You don't even have to find them yourselves, they're right by the pile. If you're strong, the sawmill is even better value since so long as you can place the log down, it's just a lever push away and you can get half the logs (which you could theoretically sell for 100 gold) even though 95% of the work had already been done for you.

The economics around wood (among other things) in Skyrim are terribly skewed TBH.
