Skyrim won't start up :(
Just recently my Skyrim will refuse to load. When pressing play the usual window will pop up: "Preparing to launch Skyrim: Elder scrolls V" then it will go away and pop back up just a second later then do the same again. I have Steam in game turned off as well as cloud. Launching from SKSE does exactly the same. The yellow "Syncing" font will also appear next to the game name then go off and back on just like the startup window. Any idea what might be causing this? :(

make sure to backup your mods before you do that go to library > right click > porperties > local files > verify integrity of game cache
that will then download any missing/corrupted files and skyrim should work again, you then will probably have to install skse again

"1 file failed to validate and must be reaquired" Pressed launch again and it did the same thing :(

I thought so but, All of my mods worked perfectly fine before this prob and are all in order by running BOSS. I just now ran it again just incase and still no difference.

This is normal - if it doesn't do this, something is wrong :) Fear not on this one.

What was the last thing you did or changed before the problem arose?

Mod Organiser works with LOOT/boss (remove boss, though it works, it is going to be fazed out down the track). M.O. will show you more to help fix mods and mod load order. LOOT is game load order and indicates warnings and errors also messages (like UFO must be loaded before other related mods etc) simular to boss.
PS. (M.O. does that time and effort to learn what it can do, it does link all the other programs together like SKSE etc. and start game through it.)

What were you doing just before "just recently"? Did one of the your mods update and perhaps a patch didn't. If you see it syncing then you must be using the Workshop, so you might be victim of the auto-update drive-by update.

How I fixed this, I looked online where it told me it was because I would automaticallly log in. I'm not sure why that affected it but after turning off automatic log-in it seemed to work. You have tomannually log in before you launch Skyrim or SKSE.

Seriously, start a thread. No one wants to read the above to finally find your post.

Hey guys i thought i could help with these tips
1. your graphics card driver might be outdated due to a lately update by steam try updating that
2. you might need to upgrade your software for example if you are running windows 7 try upgrading to the latest
3. try running skyrim and steam as the administrator to do this,
1.right click skyrim in your steam library select properties
2.click browse local files
3.locate the game executables (the application)
4.right click that to go to properties
5.Click the Compatibility tab
6.Check the Run this program as an administrator box and click Apply. then restart steam
1.Open Steam and navigate to your Library.
2.Right-click on The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition and select Properties.
3.Select the Local Files tab and then click Verify integrity of game cache...
4. Allow Steam to complete the process. i hope that one of these works
