Enchanting question - please help

Hello ! I got a little problem , if you can help me .
When I try to enchant one of my pieces of armor with fortify smithing it won't work :| "Chosen enchantment cannot be applied to this item " .. i tried with rings ,necklaces , boots , hats , chest ... only Leather bracers are working . I need to have more perks unlocked/ higher lvl in enchanting ?

Do u have any idea about what's wrong with this ? Please..

Only certain enchantments can be done on certain items. Its not a free for all.

As in your image - fortify smithing - is only able to be applied to gloves and I had thought jewelry as well ... but I could be wrong (about the jewelry) - no vanilla enchanting for me in a long time!

Fortify archery only goes on helms & gloves/bracers - as another example.

The enchantment won't be greyed out as it is in the image if it can be applied to the item you've selected.

Actually, there seems to be some sort of problem here. Fortify Smithing should work with neck, chest, hands and finger.

I don't know what's wrong .. i'm using ACE mod that modifies perk trees, but i don't think that's the problem .

It's there any way i can delete the enchantment and learn it back ? Console command or something ?..

ACE is responsible for this.

Direct quote from it's ReadMe:

- Fortify Smithing & Alchemy enchantments are 4x stronger and can only be placed on the hand-slot.

Well... I did not know the answer, becase I don't use that mod.

Acording to your image you have the enchantment and soul gem selected but not the ITEM. Thats why it would not work!!!!

Edit: I have always had to chose the item FIRST before selecting enchantment and so on.

Item is displayed, so it is selectable. It was grayed out because it was not valid item for ACE enchantment.
