Technical (?) problem with Skyrim

Hello, I bought Skyrim a few weeks ago from the Steam Summer Sale. For a week or two, the game ran just fine. However, around two weeks ago I began experiencing a strange problem. I don't know if this problem was caused because of me, or what. I just know that the game is literally unplayable because of this strange graphical glitch. Here are a few images.

We would have to know if you have modded your game and using the unofficial patches but it looks to me like you have stuff conflicting with each other or mods that have f'd over by somebody either on purpose or accident.

That's what the lucky 38 in FNV looks like in the editor if you mess with the lighting part of the editor.ini. Are you using any or more than one lighting mods in your Skyrim game?

No, I haven't downloaded a single thing for Skyrim. The game just suddenly began glitching like this. I already tried re-downloading the game, by the way.

That's pretty awful, Alpos. Same old bunch of questions then - are your vid drivers up to date and have you researched your GPU at all?

I'm not sure, how do you check those stuff? I'm fairly certain my laptop meet the requirements for running Skyrim.

Well, you can update drivers several ways. I always register my GPU and I then get an email letting me know when there is either a beta or final driver update available.

Doing this manually is like skinning a cat - there are so many ways to achieve this. The method I use is perhaps outdated - but it works for me. (leave me alone, I'm old *grins*)

Click: Control Panel > System > Device Manager > Display Adaptors > #Adaptor > Drivers > Update Drivers > Search Automatically.

As far as researching your GPU? There's a search function in the browser of your choice? If there is indeed a problem with your particular lappy it will become self evident by the number of relevant search results. Type in to your browser something like - Skyrim: #YourLapTop.
(In case you're uncertain - the " : " returns related results - at least that's the general idea)

I haven't had quite that issue, but I did have some NPCs turning semi-invisible (could see their eyeballs and teeth and clothes) and some buildings glitching in a similar way, turned down the graphics from 'high' (recommended by the auto-detect thing when I installed) to 'medium' and it went away. Might be worth trying turning your settings down a notch?

Indeed the auto-detect is buggy best is to start on medium/low and crank it slowly up ... if it holds good if not lower the last changed settings.

Thank you everyone for the help, I believe I fixed the problem however. I just deleted all of my additional save files, and the textures have returned (however, I cannot see my health in-game). Quick question; is it possible to stop the game from autosaving and creating new save files?

EDIT: Never mind, the bugginess is back. This is really frustrating.

I'm sorry, but I'm not tech savvy at all. What is that? How do I set it up?

Also, just wanted to mention that, while testing the game out right now, the game also closes out when I die.
