skyrim is lagging like crazy bad fps
i have a gtx 770 with an fx 8320 and 8 gb ram but for some reason skyrim is the only game which has an fps way lower than it should be especially with mods. Does any one know why this is happening.

depends on the mods, alot of mods only adds to bad fps, try vanilla skyrim and see what thats like, if its still bad then its more likely your pc as vanilla skyrim uses the old engine from years ago and modern pc's should play it with ease

Indeed it depends ... I also have a GTX 770 and it's a bit puzzling with mods with a lot of graphical mods try to lower the settings from Ultra to high and lower the AA and AF also let it run in windowed mode and install the borderless windows mod atm I get a steady 55-60 fps with the 2k texture packs, distant terrain mods, water and smim, etc.

Actually if your running any mods at all, install MO. It helps any and all conflicts plus straightens out all potential mod order problems too.

Why MO I don't use it and I'm happy I get the distinct impression you mix it up with loot, TES5edit and wryebash ...

MO doesn't put any mods in the Skyrim folders.

Tried once and didn't like it what you forget to mention that is has somewhat a learning curve.

If you're comfortable working manually or using NMM - that's fine.

If you just setup a stable load order and rock one toon for a long while - that's also fine.

If however you'd like to use multiple toons with different mod setups - or like to experiment with new mods in mid-playthru or anything else like that - MO is the only way to go.

The profiles setup is a huge boon to anyone with multiple toons & the fact you can actually see what mods conflict with each other and how makes the learning curve worth the effort.

No you can import them however If so I would recommend to install MO on a large enough drive in my first attempt I tried to install it on my ssd ... conclusion my ssd was to small.

i had that problem too, my 128GB SSD wasnt big enough, so i put all mods on my 2TB HHD along with the game

Not really. This guide walks through a proper setup: http://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimmods/comments/27fc6y/super_epic_guide_if_you_are_relatively_new_here/

And that's a complete guide for not only getting the basics of MO down, but also how to install and use SKSE, loot, Wrye bash, and TES5EDIT. Anyone that's modding their game should know how to use those things, or expect to be starting over a lot.
