No mods - still crashes
Hi guys! I've recently bought all the DLC's for Skyrim but when I tried to play the game crashes after Bethesda logo. I've unsubscribed and deleted all the mods (only DLC's left) but nothing changed. Even trying one DLC at the time does nothing. Can anyone help?

Not the best ideas to delete all your mods because some mods rely on scripts that will stay in that savefile that you need to do a little extra to remove. Anyway baby steps; have you verified your game?

Yup. But let me ask, what do savefiles have to do with anything? I just want to start over, but I can't start the game...

Read IIja(Ref)'s posts on a "clean uninstall". Then get MO and Loot to manage and optimize your load order for the pending mod fest.

Let me explain - I changed my PC yesterday. There are no Skyrim files whatsoever (except for the cloud). No mods, just DLC's. Yet I can't start the game.

tried to disable the cloud?

Just tried it. Doesn't work.

Do you have the high res texture packs? Those caused a bunch of problems for me about a week ago.
Black_Grin_Salem 2014 年 7 月 17 日 上午 7:01
I do, but the problem existed before I downloaded them.

Is everything check marked in the Data Files on your start screen? When you say NO Skyrim files do you mean nothing in Steam>SteamApp>Common>Skyrim and nothing in My Documents either?

If you are loading a save that you played with mods in it previously, and try to play it without them, your saves will be are what is called "dirty saves" They have stuff in them that relate to the mods you have taken out and will be unstable, and at times won't even load. You can try to clean the saves, if they are like that, by following this guide: http://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:Troubleshooting#tab=Mods_and_Savegames.

If that isn't the case, maybe try and verify your game by going to the properties of skyrim (Right click it in your library and select local files, "Properties" then verify integrity.." let Steam scan the game and download if it needs to. You can also try enboost or SKSE 1.7.1 and use the memory hack found here:http://wiki.step-project.com/Skyrim_Script_Extender#Recommendations

There is more stuff on step that might help you, so have a look around there, there are lots of guides about making Skyrim more stable. Good Luck!

Well, I've done it all - deleted Skyrim, deleted all the files (including cloud), unsubscribing all the mods, reinstalling Skyrim and nothing. All I see is Bethesda logo and then a crash...

You didn't say if you had loot on?
Black_Grin_Salem 2014 年 7 月 18 日 上午 12:14
Ignorance mode on: What's loot?

I did all of the above and so far:
- Skyrim alone works just fine
- Skyrim with texture packs works just fine
- Dawnguard, Hearthfires, Dragonborn - if any is marked in DATA the game crashes before the menu

make sure the order in "data files" (In the launcher) is:

Dawbguard.esm
Hearhfire.esm
Dragonborn.esm
HighResTexturePack01.esp
HighResTexturePack02.esp
HighResTexturePack03.esp
