Creation Kit missing files
Every time I try to open the creation kit, it tells me I'm missing Meshes\Sky\Atmosphere.nif, Meshes\Sky\Clouds.nif and Meshes\Water\DefaultProceduralWater.NIF. I've tried verifying the files and steam says it's OK. Help?

hmmm did you look in the creation kit file itself to see if the missing files are there? if they are there then somehow the program isn't verifying them correctly...are you using any mods that effects the atomsphere in the game?

If you are loading up Skyrim.esm and Update.esm are you still getting that error ? Or only in conjugation with another plugin you are loading ?

I couldn't find those files. I read somewhere that .nif files are packed away in a different file format, but I couldn't find out what that file's name was. None of my mods should affect the atmosphere.

I will ask again:

Also, mods in your game have no influence in the Creation Kit, unless you loaded them in there.
In that case mods might be dependent on other mods, which will have to be loaded as well.

I have no problems with loading either of those files. I just tried to verify my game rather than the kit and it said there was a file missing and that steam would procure it, but nothing seems to be loading. And thanks for the info about the mods!

You and everyone else will ALWAYS get the remark about a missing file. You can ignore that. It has something to do with graphic drivers.

I have tried ignoring it, but if I do, the whole programme won't respond to anything other than shutting it down.

Are you referring to the Creation Kit or the game ?
Circe Jul 28, 2014 @ 4:54am
The creation kit.

I'm having no problems from the game other than with my excess of mods.

Are you trying to load DLC's or multiple esm.files?
MercAngel Jul 28, 2014 @ 4:58am
if you have the any DLC install you have to add them to the SkyrimEditor.ini
add them to the SResourceArchiveList2 after Update.bsa only add the DLC you have
Dawnguard.bsa, Hearthfires.bsa, Dragonborn.bsa

I don't have any DLCs and I never try to open multiple esm. files, my computer can't take it.
