Permenant health drain glitch

After deciding to go back into the Soul Cairn to complete the quest to find all the missing pages I've come across this game breaking glitch. After leaving the soul cairn after finishing the quest I'm now permenantly losing health and cannot find a way to fix the problem. This is left me in a position where I have to constantly heal myself or I will die. It happenes no matter where I am and cannot be dispeled using console commands. Is there a way to fix this?

Edit: I forgot to mention, unlike the video, I was a vampire lord when I entered the soul cairn and I still am a vampire lord.

I may be confusing this with one of the visual effects that tend to stick, but in the Cairn are these crystals which zap you with a constant lightning bolt or somesuch when you get close. I'd recommend going back in and allowing them to hit you again.

I've tried that with every crystal in the cairn and I have tried eating a soul husk while being drain by one. Neither of these have worked, it just increases the rate my health is being drained.

I entered it as a vampire lord and I re-entered it as a vampire lord. The only diffence between the 2 times I entered it is that I learned a few new spells and have started and finished a few new quests.

i haven't encountered this before, have you tried going back to an earlier save before this happened and redo everything?

yep, and the same thing happens. Weird thing is, it goes through god mode. So even if I enable god mode I still die.

It doesn't

It's not the effect, I am litrally losing health without the effect. I've tried looking up a solution and all I could find was posts about that graphical glitch and that 1 youtube video of the person who had the same glitch as me.

Also, I'm in human form. I don't really like the vampire lord form so I stick with human form.

If you're a vampire, then you shouldn't be losing health in the first place. Unless being zapped by a crystal thing, of course.

Likewise, either you DO have the effect, or something ELSE is damaging you. I guess you mean to say it's not showing up on your magic menu. You haven't been messing with Black Books or somesuch, have you?

It's been a fair while since I last visited the Soul Cairn, but I just took my current character (who's never been a vampire) back there and suffered no ill effects.

I noticed Valerica offered to create potions from Soul Husks, but lost this option once I told her Harkon was dead. If you haven't done that yet, it might be worth drinking one of those, see what (if any) difference it makes.

Are you getting the same noise as in the video?

Hmm okay, well from what i can gather the Soul Cairn does not allow living creatures to enter, why you have to drain your soul(first time entering), i think that you should be able to enter as a vamp but the whole damn thing might be glitched so hard to say.

I haven't been to soltheim yet with this character, I like to do Dawnguard before I do Dragonborn. I'm not 100% certain, but I think the draining effect of the crystals is permenantly stuck to my character. Which is odd, seeing as it didn't actually start happening until I had left the soul cairn after completeing the collecting pages quest

I tried the soul essence as well as the husks (they didn't work either) and I have already completed dawnguard, meaning I cannot get more from Valerica.

And yes, the video is show casing the exact problem I have, complete with effect and annoying sounds.

Digging through the first few pages, only solutions 0 or 4 look like they may help. You may find something if you go deeper, though.

I'm not entirely clear on this. I've got a hunch that you can go in without being undead or soul trapped by Serana (eg after the relevant quests are all said and done - say you went in as a vampire originally, then went back after being cured), in which case you may get drained due to that - though the effect should stop when you leave the Cairn, and certainly shouldn't apply to a vampire.

I looked through the thread and tried the suggestions at the start, none of them seem to of worked. I'm still losing health and still have the effect and sound like in the video...

I've done some more digging around and I've come across a few people with the same problem so it is rare...

But no-one seems to know the solution to it.
I guess I'll have to reload a previous save and do the whole war quest again...

I dont have any old save, I am at level 54, I dont want to create a new character -.-
