Hilariously bad game on playstation 4 using skyrim assets

I expect this game is going to get shot down very soon by the dozen of companies that they have ripped content off of... but check out that shield![media.playstation.com]

Is that really considered, "stunning 3d graphics", for consoles? Maybe it is just Youtube, but at 1080p it looks like crap..or maybe my 2k monitor, dunno.

I'll assume I wasn't the only one walking into this thread expecting the game to be "Skyrim".

But no, that's the PlayStation YouTube channel, showing a real game using the actual Dragonscale Shield from Skyrim.

I don't know what's crazier, the use of Bethesda's content or that they're actually using "8+ hours of play" as a dot-point in their features list.

I can't comment either way about that game but I can confirm that using assets from an asset store, especially in an open world game, is not unusual. Just take a look at the Unity asset store or the Unreal market place, nothing wrong doing that, you can make a load of money selling your own assets, in fact I am sure some 3d model artists earn a living just doing that.

It is all about how your game looks overall though, the biggest issue with a dev purchasing assets from a store is putting the assets into a game that doesnt match the game's graphical style.

A while back, probably almost a year now, someone actually posted a picture showing the elven shield from skyrim that had been used in an advertisement from one of those freemium games on mobile that had been placed up in a train station as one of those giant wallpaper adds. I doubt this game will get any sales. I mean:
"Welcome to an epic adventure"
- The rest of the trailer is nust walking. What's so epic?
"Stunning 3D graphics"
- The trailer looks like a high quality PS2 game, or a medium qhality free to play online game
"Duel"
- Not only is this stupid, because the trailer shows maybe 1 second of a fight, but, looking at the rest of the "selling points" theh should use the word "duels". Unless there're only 1 fight in the entire game...
"11 levels open for exploration"
- Yay, 11 places to run around...
"Changes in weather conditions"
- We've had this stuff for like 10 years. It's nothing new.
"8+ hours of play"
- Many people consider this to be a joke. I think it's a very strong point. I mean, look at the trailer: would you really want to run around a desert for more than 8 hours?
"Atmosphere dark fantasy"
- Looking at this and "Duel" I think the creator of this trailer aren't too good in English. For one, where're the atmosphere? Where's the dark fantasy? The entire trailer is a chick in black armor and an oversized sword running around a desert, fighting things from time to time.

And notice how the last 20 seconds of the trailer go like this:
- play a clip for 5 seconds
- Play the same clip for 5 seconds but with the starting point 1 second later
- play another clip for 5 seconds
- play that same clip for 3 seconds with starting point 1 second later
- repeat step 4
- go back to step one, repeat all

And to add insult to this already horrible piece of utter crap, they also steal assets from other games? Other major blockbuster games that everyone will quickly reckognise? Were they high when doing that "game"?

Being honest though, if it truly doesn't have any stolen assets, perhaps I don't mind giving it a try. The trailer may doesn't look promising but it's understandable if it comes from non-English developer. And with only 8 hours of gameplay I don't think it'll be that expensive. You can't really judge a shoe without putting it on first.

bwahahahaha lol 60 bucks ... imagine what REAL game you'll get for that money. really tough choice. 8 hours for 60 bucks I can name expansions that costs less and have more then 8 hours of game play.
