Discussing the flaws of Skyrim
I already know what the responses to this will be. I'l surely get a "Your just a filthy casual who can't handle a real RPG." or maybe "Stupid Morrowind fanboys." perhaps even the good old "Must be a troll." but this game is incredibly overrated.

The combat in this game is god awful and if you don't see any flaws in it then you need to realize how much of a fanboy you are. Always hitting makes no sense and takes all strategy out of combat. I have never held a sledge hammer in my life, but I guarentee you I couldn't hit a guy with it. It is not "realistic" to hit people as much as your character does, I am willing to bet your character would win in a fist fight with god (Oh wait, the took out they ♥♥♥♥ing hand to hand skill). It is more realistic for your hit chance to go up, since you would get better at using your weapon and therefor better at hitting. The system doesn't aloow strategy since you can win just by clicking alot. Look at a game like XCOM, it's combat is done with a random chance, but there are factors to it. Your chance of hitting somebody goes up the closer you are to them. Keep in mind that in Skyrim, make you always make contact with your weapon and once you have done so, you simply kill them. No chance of failure. There is no method to it, you always hit even if you do have the IQ of a mentally incapacitated rock.

Characters are non-existant. Give the personality of any NPC, ANY at all. There is no personality, they are all just vending machines with copy-pasted dialogue. Morrowind may not have any realy memorable characters either, but at least they have personalities!

The journal is god awful. I will agree that it is annoying that the only way to know where to go in Morrowind is the journal. The thing is, Skrims journal sucks. The lack of organization and really bad directions, it is terrible. What is worse, following a marker that tells you where to go instead of reciving indepth directions to a location. Some missions have completely wrong directions, it's a nightmare.

I don't blame people for liking it, even the aspects I have listed. People who do are only huge Skyrim fans. Don't use these in arguements against Morrowind. This game has the fan base it does because of blind fanboism, not because it holds up. Feel free to like it and refuse to see the flaws in it, but please don't posting that you are right in the most smug way possible. (I get that it is kind of ironic, but I am countering some of the main points used to say Skyrim>Morrowind, I have seen all of these used to call Skyrim casual like it is the best thing a game can be.) I'm sure some people will find Skyrim and like it, but those people make up a fraction of it's player base.

What are you talking about? Despite NPCs you meet on the roads (farmers and nobles mostly), everyone has unique dialogue lines, and most of them have different conversations. I think you're confusing these 2 games, Morrowind was the one where you have same dialogue options and everyone (including their horrible voice acting) made you fell asleep.

If you have the attention span of a rat (Sorry, "skeever" because they're TOTALLY different) maybe.

I personally find the vanilla game an unplayable, unpolished, badly designed mess in pretty much every single area, from bland and boring enviroments, repeditive combat and enemies and a very distinct lack of items or equipment and a lot of other problems I could list but cant be bothered. I can't play vanilla at all, however I do think that they things they did get right in the game left a good framework for others, as I do find a very heavily modded skyrim very enjoyable.

You cant count mods that fix it as not having flaws.

You know, my Skyrim character just might actually be able to beat God in a fist fight. Granted, the only reason would be because in Skyrim God would be level scaled down to me, but hey, a win is a win..even if it's from the most broken mechanic in RPG history...right?
